(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 12 - An Italian ski instructor died in
hospital Wednesday night after she was hit by an avalanche at
Cortina d'Ampezzo Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, from Venice, had been taken by helicopter from the
jewel of the Dolomites to a hospital in Treviso.
She and her partner were hit by the avalanche near a mountain
refuge at Cortina.
The partner was unhurt.
The condition of the woman, on the other hand, was immediately
pronounced critical upon her arrival in Treviso.
An autopsy has been ordered. (ANSA).
