(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 6 - Milan prosecutors have opened a probe
after a 20-year-old woman died in a city hospital after 10 days
in a coma after suffering anaphylactic shock after eating a
vegan tiramisù which it is suspected contained traces of milk
she had been allergic to since birth.
The woman died in the northern city's San Raffaele Hospital
Sunday.
The product, Tiramisun, was withdrawn from the market by the
ministry of health Monday for the risk of the presence of
allergens due to its possibly containing milk proteins not
indicated on the label.
A prosecutor has opened a probe into manslaughter against person
or persons unknown.
He has also ordered an autopsy. (ANSA).
