(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 22 - Environmental association Legambiente
on Wednesday highlighted a big north-south divide in the quality
of rail services in Italy in a new report.
It said that the average age of trains being used in southern
Italy was 18.
Furthermore, it said that southern Italy has fewer trains and
they mostly travel on single-track, non-electrified rail lines.
The report said Italy's rail transport sector was behind those
of other other European countries. (ANSA).
