(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 28 - Senegalese news agency APS and ANSA
have signed a partnership agreement providing for the provision
and exchange of content for use on their respective platforms.
Senegalese Ambassador to Italy Papa Abdoulaye Seck and Italian
Ambassador to Senegal Giovanni Umberto De Vito attended the
ceremony, the latter by video link from Dakar.
The partnership enriches the supply of international information
for subscribers and clients of the two news agencies. In fact,
under the agreement the partners can use each other's
information services for editorial purposes and develop joint
commercial projects in support of institutional and corporate
communications in Italy and Senegal.
"I welcome with appreciation the start of the collaboration
between ANSA and its Senegalese counterpart agency APS," said
Italian Ambassador to Senegal Umberto De Vito. "The need for
factual and transparent information on the affairs of Italy and
Senegal is increasingly felt. Thanks to agreements such as this,
it will be possible to strengthen the narrative on the many
opportunities, including in the educational, artistic and
business fields, that can unite Africa and Europe, as well as
providing a more comprehensive perspective on the migration
phenomenon," he added.
For his part, Ambassador Papa Abdoulaye Seck stressed that "this
partnership agreement is fundamental to the construction of a
world that is marked by interdependence and driven by
solidarity. In this respect, it is necessary to put an end to
the asymmetry of information at the international level: very
often the sources of tension and the mistaken perception we have
of people are determined by poor information, which leads to
actions that are not consistent with the progress of humanity.
Education, information, sharing and exchange are imperative if
we want our planet to undergo a true positive metamorphosis. The
partnership agreement will contribute to this goal, and the
Government of Senegal will do everything possible to ensure its
rapid, effective and efficient implementation. Moreover, the
Government of Senegal is convinced that this agreement will be a
total success, given the commitment and determination of the new
Senegalese news agency team and the will of Italy that has been
constantly reaffirmed for exemplary cooperation with Senegal."
APS Director General Thierno Ahmadou Sy expressed satisfaction
with the agreement signed with ANSA: "In my opinion, this
cooperation between our agencies is all the more opportune as
the Italian Republic is home to thousands of Senegalese who need
to know what is happening in their home country. And there is no
doubt that this media bridge that we are building through this
cooperation will allow them to always have the pulse of the
country, to have reliable information from Senegal. For its
part, APS will strive to make the actions and activities of the
Italian entities and citizens living in Senegal more visible, to
the delight of their fellow citizens back home."
For Stefano De Alessandri, ANSA CEO, "the signing of this
partnership is just a first step, which we hope will lead to
further collaboration between ANSA and APS. In fact, the
agreement includes the possibility of developing specific
commercial projects for companies and entities that want to
communicate from Senegal to Italy, and for Italian companies and
entities that want to communicate in Senegal. Within ANSA we are
also developing interesting technological projects that we are
ready to share with APS." (ANSA).
