(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 12 - A pensioner from Barlassina, in the
northern province of Monza, has said that he had been fined 800
euros by the local council for having repaired a pothole on a
zebra crossing in the town.
The pensioner, Claudio Trenta, explained the story in a Facebook
post featuring a photo of him with the fine.
He said he filled the pothole with bitumen after he reported the
problem and the authority failed to take action.
But the council fined him for carrying out unauthorized and
potentially dangerous work in a public space and ordered him to
undo the repair.
Trenta said he will file a complaint against the council for
failing to fulfil its obligations. (ANSA).
