(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 30 - Civil Protection Minister Nello
Musumeci said Tuesday it is "too bad" no-one from the government
has been invited to accompany President of the Republic Sergio
Mattarella during his visit to flood-ravaged Emilia Romagna.
"I am glad the President of the Republic is also in the flooded
areas," Musumeci told Rainews24.
"It's too bad that there is no-one from the government to
explain the critical issues to the Head of State, no one was
invited," he added.
"It doesn't matter, the important thing is to get to the
results," Musumeci said.
Mattarella began his visit on Tuesday in Modigliana in the
province of Forlì-Cesena, one of the towns worst affected by the
recent flooding and landslide emergency that left 15 people dead
and caused billions of euros of damage to infrastructure and
crops.
Later in the day he will meet with volunteers in Forlì and then
with communities in Cesena, Ravenna and Lugo, before ending the
visit in Faenza for a meeting with local mayors. (ANSA).
