CL educator arrested for raping girl, 14

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 19 - An educator with links to Catholic activist lobby group Communion and Liberation (CL) was arrested Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Rimini.
    The unnamed man, provincial head of Gioventù Studentesca "Don Giussani" of Reggio Emilia, which reports to Communion and Liberation, was arrested on charges of sexual assault against a minor.
    According to investigators, while he was on a spiritual retreat in Rimini, in preparation for Easter, he allegedly abused the old girl who had been entrusted to him by her parents.
    The investigating judge of the Court of Rimini, Vinicio Cantarini, signed the order of precautionary detention in prison following the investigations of the Carabinieri of Rimini, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Davide Ercolani. (ANSA).
