(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 31 - Italy's supreme Court of Cassation on
Tuesday ruled that charges of perjury had timed out due to the
statue of limitations against two Carabinieri involved in the
2009 police brutality death of 31-year-old Rome surveyor Stefano
Cucchi.
Several police have been convicted of causing the death by
beating of Cucchi, who was picked up on a minor drugs charge.
The Cassation declared the crime of perjury time-barred for
Carabinieri Roberto Mandolini and Francesco Tedesco, who had
already been convicted in one of the trials for Cucchi's death.
