(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 15 - A 46-year-old factory worker died in
an industrial accident in Abruzzo on Monday, the latest in a
spate of fatal workplace accidents that has continued at a rate
of more than one a week despite action by successive
governments.
The man, from Lanciano, was hit in the abdomen by a metal tube
spewed out of a machine press he was working on, and died soon
after being critically injured.
The machinery has been sequestered by police in the factory in
the Val di Sangro area. (ANSA).
