(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - An officer at Italy's top military
academy in Modena has been placed under investigation for hazing
grooms in the academy stables including making them wash horses'
genitals repeatedly, the la Repubblica daily reported Wednesday.
Modena prosecutors and Verona military prosecutors are
investigating the unnamed man on suspicion of private violence,
harassment and abuse of authority.
He allegedly subjected some female and male stables officers to
punitive and humiliating acts, such as frequently washing the
horses' genitals.
The alleged events date back to two years ago: the ordinary
magistracy took action on the recommendation of the military
magistracy of Verona, which is proceeding in parallel.
There have allegedly been sexist phrases and episodes of body
shaming always, according to the prosecution, by the same
officer.
ANSA has confirmed the investigation. (ANSA).
