(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - Work-related deaths in Italy fell
4.5% to 1,041 in 2023, workplace accident insurance agency INAIL
said Wednesday, belying a spate of fatal workplace accidents.
The number of work-related accident reports submitted to INAIL
between January and December 2023 was 585,356 (-16.1% compared
to 2022), the institute said.
There was an increase in reported occupational diseases, which
totalled 72,754 (+19.7%).
In 2023, INAIL said, there was a marked reduction in the number
of accident reports as a whole, compared to 2022, due almost
exclusively to the considerable decrease in cases of Covid
infection. (ANSA).
