(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 1 - The group of at least 10 robbers who
held up three Vigilpol security vans in a commando-style
operation on a state highway near Sassari on Wednesday got away
with around four million euros in cash, investigative sources
said on Thursday.
The gang opened fire on the vans, injuring a security guard in
the leg, and set a vehicle alight during the hold-up.
Police in Sassari on Thursday staged dawn raids to search the
homes of people suspected of being linked to the gang. (ANSA).
