(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 17 - Two inmates escaped from Trani prison
in the southern region of Puglia early on Saturday afternoon.
The jailbreakers, both aged around 30, are reported to be
non-Italian and accused of crimes against property and the
person.
They allegedly escaped from the prison by climbing over the rear
boundary wall before fleeing into the countryside.
A police search is underway.
The last break from Trani jail dates back to August 2021, when
again two prisoners escaped.
One, Daniele Arciuli, was arrested after two months, while the
other, Giuseppe De Noya, turned himself in a few days later.
