Worker crushed to death by concrete slab in Calabria

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 17 - A 54-year-old construction worker died on a building site in Frascineto, near Cosenza, on Friday afternoon after being crushed by a concrete slab that fell from a crane, local media reported on Saturday.
    Edison Malaj, of Albanian origin, was reportedly working with colleagues in the yard of the former social winery of Frascineto when the slab broke loose and fell on top of him.
    Police are investigating.
    The accident occurred on the same day as the structural collapse on a building site in Florence that left four construction workers confirmed dead and another missing feared dead and three more workers injured. (ANSA).
