Man gets life for killing ex

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 21 - A Milan appeals court on Wednesday sentenced a 45-year-old Milanese banker to life in prison for killing his 43-year-old ex girlfriend near Milan in January 2022.
    The man, Davide Fontana, was found guilty of murdering Carol Maltesi in her home at Rescaldina on January 11 that year, hitting her on the head with a hammer and then cutting her throat.
    In the court of first instance, last year, Fontana was given a 30-year sentence, which prosecutors appealed. (ANSA).
