(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 20 - A man who was attacked by two men
with a machete in Turin Monday afternoon on Wednesday had the
lower half of his left leg amputated as a consequence of his
injuries.
Surgeons removed the leg below the knee after blood loss and
other complications made it impossible to save all the limb.
They said the operation had been successful.
It is still unclear why the two men ambushed the man while he
was out for a walk with his girlfriend in the northwestern city.
