(ANSA) - ROME, APR 8 - A 31-year-old woman who was driving
the SUV that caused an accident in the province of Salerno on
Saturday night in which two young Carabinieri police officers
died tested positive for alcohol after the crash, investigative
sources said on Monday.
The woman also tested positive for cocaine although this result
needs to be confirmed by analysis of a B sample, the sources
said.
Carabinieri officers Francesco Pastore, 25, and Francesco
Ferraro, 27, died in the accident.
A third officer, Paolo Volpe, is in hospital after suffering
injuries in the crash. (ANSA).
