(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 17 - The fire-brigade on Friday found the
body of a pensioner who was swept away when flood waters caused
the bridge he was standing on over the Serenza River in the
province of Como town of Cantù to collapse on Thursday.
The corpse of Mario Porro, 66, was found about three kilometres
downstream from where he had fallen into the water.
The man - a volunteer from one of the groups that build the
Cantù Carnival floats - had gone out with with two friends on
Thursday to observe the flood waters, sources said.
