(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - Turin University Chancellor Stefano
Paolo Corgnati and Universities Minister Anna Maria Bernini on
Friday came out against an imam holding Islamic Friday prayers
on the campus.
When they learned of plans to hold a prayer meeting, they
"immediately sent a request to the Prefect and Police
Commissioner of Turin to warn any religious authorities that
might be involved from carrying out functions and activities at
the university's premises," said the Turin Politecnico
university.
Corgnati said the move had been made "in full coordination" with
Bernini.
