(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 30 - More than 100,000 girls and boys aged
between 15 and 16 live in poverty in Italy, almost one in 10
(9.4%), the Italian section of Save the Children said in a
report on Thursday.
It added that 67.4% of the young people in poverty fear that the
job they will have in the future will not allow them to get out
of it.
That compares to 25.9% of teenagers not experiencing deprivation
who fear a future of poverty.
Furthermore, more than one in four of the young people in
poverty think they will not finish school, compared to 8.9% of
their peers. (ANSA).
