(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 17 - The ship Nadir operate by the German
migrant rescue NGO RESQSHIP on Monday rescued 51 people on board
a wooden boat in difficulty off Libya and south of Lampedusa,
finding 10 dead bodies in its flooded lower deck.
The migrant rescue charity said on X:
"#Nadir is currently caring for 51 people on board.
"A total of 61 people were on the wooden boat, which was full of
water. Our crew was able to evacuate 51 people, two of whom were
unconscious - they had to be cut free with an axe." (ANSA).
