Alex Pompa first cleared then got 6 yrs for defending mother

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 5 - The supreme Court of Cassation on Friday ordered a fresh appeals trial for a Turin-area man who was acquitted at first instance and sentenced to six years on appeal for killing his violent father while defending his mother, a long-time victim of domestic abuse, at Collegno near Turin in April 2020.
    Alex Pompa, now 22, was acquitted in first instance for self-defence and sentenced on 13 December 2023 by the Court of Appeal of Turin to six years and two months imprisonment.
    The high court judges have now granted the request of the public prosecutor's office.
    Giuseppe Pompa, a 52-year-old factory worker, was killed with 34 stabd wounds after a heated row in the family home on the evening of April 30, 2020, when Alex was 18. (ANSA).
