(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 6 - Italy had the second highest organ
donation rate in the European Union in 2023, according to the
latest annual activity report on transplants out on Tuesday.
With 28.2 donors every million residents, Italy ranked behind
Spain (the world's leader with 48.9) and ahead of France (26.3),
Great Britain (21.3) and Germany (11.4).
The result was confirmed by the annual activity report on
transplants published on the website of the National transplant
centre.
According to preliminary data issued in January, 2023 was the
best year on record. (ANSA).
