(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 7 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani on Wednesday said US Vice President Kamala
Harris' choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running
mate in her bid for the White House is a "surprise".
"He is a man who quite represents the middle class, he has been
an American football coach, a professor, he is a governor with
quite a progressive stance, left-wing, who covers and electoral
pool that Harris is clearly unable to cover", Tajani told the
Morning News program on Mediaset's Canale 5, commenting Harris'
choice of a running mate.
"Whoever will win the election will be an interlocutor of
Italy", concluded Tajani. (ANSA).
