(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 22 - A former Evangelical church pastor
aged 83 has been arrested by the Trento police flying squad for
allegedly abusing a seven-year-old girl, ANSA learned on
Thursday.
According to investigative sources, the man is under
investigation for engaging in sexual acts with a minor and has
been placed under house arrest.
The former pastor is accused of abusing the girl while she was
staying in a community based in Trentino with her family,
originally from Cameroon, in December 2022.
The probe was opened after a volunteer with Catholic charity
Caritas told social services that the girl's father had confided
to her the sexual abuse allegedly endured by his daughter.
