(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 26 - The mother of an eight-year-old girl
who died Sunday in a car accident in the southern Campania town
of Giugliano near Naples after the car in which she was
travelling capsized, has is being probed by authorities for
vehicular homicide, investigative sources said Monday.
The woman's partner was detained Sunday for driving without a
license the car that overturned, killing the girl.
The victim's mother has not been arrested.
According to investigators, the eight-year-old was sitting on
her mother's lap in the passenger side seat of the car, a Smart
Fortwo.
Four passengers were on board the car at the time of the
accident, the driver, who is not the girl's father, the mother,
and the victim's 16-year-old sister, who was sitting in the
small rear boot, investigative sources said. (ANSA).
