(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 3 - A priest who has been fighting for
years against crime and drug pushing in Rome has become the
victim of a Mafia-like attack, Lazio security pointwoman Luisa
Regimenti said Tuesday, voicing solidarity with the cleric.
Lecce-born Don Antonio Coluccia, 49, was subjected, she said, to
"a violent mafioso attack" in Rome's working class Quarticciolo
district where he was leading an anti-crime march.
Father Coluccia has been under police escort for several years
due to his anti-drug trade battles in the outskirts of the
Italian capital, in tough neighborhoods like Tor Bella Monaca.
