Milan fashion week set to open on Tuesday

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 16 - Milan fashion week is set to open on Tuesday with a calendar featuring one extra day of shows and events.
    The new edition of fashion week, which runs until September 23, will include 173 appointments with 57 physical shows, eight digital ones, 69 presentations, six presentations under appointment and 33 events.
    The fashion calendar dedicated to the women's ready-to-wear collections for Spring/Summer 2025 will open with Fendi, Marni, Alberta Ferretti and Iceberg.
    Among major brand names, Etro will hit the catwalk on Wednesday, Max Mara and Prada on Thursday and Gucci on Friday, with Ferragamo, Dolce&Gabbana and Bottega Veneta debuting their collections on Saturday, among others.
    Prominently absent will be Giorgio Armani who will be presenting his spring-summer 2025 collection on October 17 in New York to coincide with the opening of his flagship store on Madison Avenue, and will not be closing the week as in the past.
    This edition of the shows will be celebrating a series of milestones including the 50th anniversary of Iceberg, which will stage a show and party on Wednesday.
    Laura Biagiotti will also mark 50 years since debuting its first collection during Milan Fashion Week, returning to a physical runway event on September 21.
    Redemption will mark its 10th anniversary with a show on September 17, while Vogue Italia will celebrate its 60 years with an exhibition - 'Sixty Years of Vogue Italia' - at Palazzo Citterio that will run from September 19 to 21.
    Milan's fashion extravaganza will open on Tuesday with the inauguration of the Fashion Hub at Palazzo Giureconsulti and will wrap up on September 22 with the event CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2024, organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in cooperation with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (Efi) of the UN ITC Agency with the support of the municipality of Milan.
    The Milan catwalk will also be hosting for the first time a Susan Fang show supported by Dolce&Gabbana, Federico Cina backed by Camera Moda Fashion Trust, Chiccomao and Phan Dang Hoang.
    The Attico and Laura Biagiotti will also be making a comeback in Milan's calendar. (ANSA).
