(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 22 - A 19-year-old woman is dead after she
was hit in a shooting late on Saturday at a beach club at
Molfetta, near Bari, sources said on Sunday.
Anti-mafia investigators have taken the case because of the
suspected involvement of mobsters based in Bari's Japigia
district.
The dead woman has been named as Antonia Lopez, the niece of
Ivan Lopez, who was killed in a hit in Bari in September 2021.
Investigators suspect that the 2021 hit was carried out by men
acting on behalf of the Capriati mafia clan of the Bari Vecchia
quarter and the Parisi-Palermiti clan of the Japigia district,
which is in conflict with the Strisciuglio clan that holds sway
in the San Paolo and San Girolamo areas.
Eugenio Palermiti, a 20-year-old aspiring to be a boss in the
Palermiti clan, was among three people injured in Saturday's
shooting, sources said. (ANSA).
