(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 23 - Transparency dominated the Milanese
runways debuting women's wear collections for spring-summer 2025
at this edition of the Milan fashion shows that drew to a close
on Sunday night.
Dresses, skirts, shirts and tops celebrated the transparent look
- the hottest trend in Milan.
This specific take on femininity included more prim and proper
styles with shorts as well as glitzier, bejewelled versions in
ultralight chiffon fabrics and sportier ensembles in linen and
cotton for the beach.
Underwear peaked under sheer tops, chiffon blouses as well as
1950s styles seen at Dolce and Gabbana.
Sensuality pervaded midi-length skirts with high slits that
appeared to have replaced last season's very short hemlines
while shorts remained a must on many catwalk presentations.
The call to show more skin next summer took the shape of lace
adorning both very short and very long dresses - at times
encrusted with beads and crystals - peaking under trench coats
at Gucci or oversized coats at Bottega Veneta that appeared
designed to conceal the nuanced eveningwear underneath.
Seduction was spelled out by the fishnet dresses showcased by
Del Core, the bustiers seen at Antonio Marras and the animal
prints and graphics that dominated the catwalk at Roberto
Cavalli as well as the paillettes of N21, mixed with boho
leather jackets.
Androgynous styles made a comeback at Sportmax, with asymmetric
transparencies and sculptural silhouettes, and at The Attico,
where eveningwear mixed stiletto heels and cargo pants.
Intellectual seduction reigned at Prada with an apparently
bourgeois-style look made of a pleated skirt cinched at the
waist with a belt with steel hooks leaving flashes of bare skin.
Meanwhile, on the same catwalk, hats with incorporated glasses
concealed the eyes.
And hats reigned supreme, giving a touch of the diva to
spring-summer looks.
They had giant raffia fringes at Antonio Marras, plumes at The
Attico, lace at Dolce and Gabbana, in the tiara version worn by
Madonna, the protagonist of this edition of Milan fashion week
that glimmered with film, music and fashion stars.
Along with the queen of pop, the Milan shows that opened on
September 17 included Naomi Campbell, one of the supermodels who
were guest stars of the fashion show that paid homage to
Florentine designer Roberto Cavalli, who died in April, with a
number of his iconic vintage pieces.
Maneskin frontman Damiano David attended the Diesel show wearing
only a pair of leather pants.
Algerian boxer and Olympic gold medallist Imane Khelif was the
most photographed at Bottega Veneta's show while artist Marina
Abramovic sat front row at Fendi and Gucci.
Meanwhile a number of Italian Olympians attended the Emporio
Armani presentation where ties were the fil route connecting
men's wear to women's wear - a call to get dressed with freedom
and irony and approach next summer's trends with the confidence
of a diva, but always with an understated touch. (ANSA).
