(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 23 - A 57-year-old worker on Monday died
in a workplace accident in the town of Villanova Mondovì, in the
province of Cuneo.
The victim was working at a factory owned by Emmer, a company
that makes doors and windows.
According to preliminary information, the workman was fatally
injured after he was hit by a windowpane that had been set on a
vehicle.
Italy is seeing a long spate of fatal workplace accidents.
Almost 500 people were reported to have been killed in work
accidents among payrolled steady workers in Italy in the first
semester of this year with the figure rising to 670 if temp and
gig workers were included, according to the national observatory
on the phenomenon. (ANSA).
