(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 24 - Alberta Ferretti is stepping down as
creative director of the eponymous brand she founded, the
designer announced on Tuesday.
The spring-summer 2025 runway show in Milan last week wrapped up
the Italian designer's entrepreneurial and creative adventure
that began in 1980, according to a note issued by her family
business Aeffe Group.
The 74-year-old designer will stay on in her role as vice
president of Aeffe Group, which operates her eponymous brand as
well as Moschino, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Pollini and
will announce the name of the person chosen to step in as
creative director in the coming weeks.
Ferretti's last show as creative director on September 17 in
Milan paid homage to her signature style with ethereal chiffon
dresses, and practical daywear oozing femininity with a modern
take.
Ferretti, whose collaborators have included Steven Meisel and
Franca Sozzani, said on Tuesday that "43 years have gone by
since my first fashion show.
"The enthusiasm and passion I feel for this job and fashion
haven't changed, but I believe that at this point in my career
it is the right and conscious choice to pave the way to a new
creative chapter for the brand I founded and which will continue
to bear my name", stressed Ferretti. (ANSA).
