INPS says 13.15 bn spent on child-allowance benefit in 8 mts

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 15 - Pensions-and-social-security agency INPS said Tuesday that the State spent 13.15 billion euros on the 'assegno unico' child-allowance benefit in the first eight months of 2024.
    INPS said that, as of August, 6,021,079 families had received the 'assegno unico' payment for a total of 9,554,117 children.
    The payment was on average 273 euros per family and 172 euros for each child, up from the 257 euros per household and 162 per child paid on average in 2023, the agency said. Introduced in 2022, the benefit gives parents a monthly sum, with low-earning families getting more. (ANSA).
