'Judgement reflects Italy's credibility'

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 19 - Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti on Saturday said the judgement of rating agencies was the result of the government's responsible action after Fitch lifted its outlook to positive and S&P Global confirmed its rating on Italy at 'BBB' and left the outlook at 'stable' on Friday. "The judgments of rating agencies are the result of the government's responsible action which translates into credibility for Italy", said the economy minister. Global credit ratings agency Fitch revised its outlook on Italy to 'positive' from 'stable', mentioning recent improvements in fiscal performance and commitment to EU fiscal rules.
    The agency also affirmed its rating for Italy at 'BBB'.
    On Friday, S&P global ratings also affirmed its 'BBB/A-2' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Italy, saying the outlook was stable. (ANSA).
