(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 25 - Carabinieri police have detained a
65-year-old pensioner over the murder of his wife, sources said
on Friday, after she was found dead with a gunshot wound to the
head at their home Medesano, in the province of Parma.
The body of the 62-year-old retired nurse was found by a
relative on Thursday, although she may have been dead for
several days.
The husband was detained after being tracked down in Orbetello,
in Tuscany, local newspaper La Gazzetta di Parma reported.
It is the latest in an alarming spate of femicides in Italy.
On Thursday a man was arrested over the murder of Flavia Mello
Agonigi, a 54-year-old woman whose body was found near Pisa this
week after she vanished on October 11. (ANSA).
