(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 28 - Parliament's COPASIR security
committee, which oversees Italy's intelligence agencies, has
requested the documents from a Milan probe into a
snooping gang allegedly led by former top police officer that is
accused of obtaining huge quantities of confidential information
via illegal access to databases, sources said on Monday.
There are reports that the gang enjoyed support from high-level
figures, such as elements from secret services, including
foreign ones.
As a result, the committee wants to have information about the
any spies allegedly involved, as it did with a Perugia probe
into a similar case centred on the activities of a former
finance police officer, Pasquale Striano. (ANSA).
