(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 29 - Finance police on Tuesday arrested a
Calabrian supermarket entrepreneur and two other people over
alleged worker exploitation, sources said.
The entrepreneur, the owner of five supermarkets in the towns
of Montepaone, Soverato and Chiaravalle Centrale, allegedly paid
employees just four euros an hour, made them work more than 50
hours per week, limited their holiday entitlement and, in the
event of an accident at work, passed it off as a domestic
accident.
The finance police impounded six businesses with corporate
assets worth over 27 million euro in relation to the case.
