(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 31 - Former top police officer Carmine
Gallo, who is suspected of leading an alleged computer snooping
gang with ex-Milan Fair Foundation president Enrico Pazzali that
got confidential information mostly on business, as well as
political and showbusiness figures, on Thursday told Milan
Preliminary Investigations Judge (GIP) Fabrizio Filice that he
will prove his innocence.
"I am a servant of the state, I will talk to prosecutors to
prove my innocence", he said.
Gallo, one of the suspects arrested over his role in the alleged
network of cyber spies, invoked the right to remain silent,
along with other key suspects in the case, including the group's
suspected top hacker, Samuele Calamucci, who provided a written
statement. (ANSA).
