(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 8 - A Hulu drama series about Amanda Knox
is currently being filmed in the Umbria city of Perugia.
Unconfirmed reports say Monica Lewinsky is also in town.
Lewinsky is one of the producers of the show which covers Knox's
16-year journey after being convicted for the murder of her
British roommate Meredith Kercher in the Umbria city,.
Filming has also taken place in another city in Umbria, Orvieto,
where a trial against Knox took place.
The eight-episode series called Blue Moon is officially
described as "based on the true story of how Knox was
erroneously convicted for Meredith's murder and describes the
16-year-long odyssey she experienced to set herself free".
Producers of the show, from creator KJ Steinberg and 20th
Television in association with The Littlefield Company and
Lewinsky's Alt Ending Productions, have told the municipal
administration that they will not be focusing on the 2007 murder
of the British exchange student but rather on the beauty of the
city and its community of young students from all over the
world.
Knox, a US citizen, and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito
were acquitted definitively in 2015.
Rudy Guede, an Ivorian, was convicted and sentenced to 16 years
for the murder.
He was released from prison in November 2021 after serving 13
years. (ANSA).
