(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - The Carabinieri ROS Special Branch
and the Central Operations Service of the police on Saturday
arrestd an Uzbek man in Italy in the kidnapping for the purpose
of extortion of Stefano Guidotti, an Italian entrepreneur living
in Moscow who between the end of June and the beginning of July
was held hostage for about 36 hours before being released by the
police.
Guidotti is industrial gas producer SAD's representative in
Russia.
The police arrested a middle-aged Uzbek man believed to be the
brains behind the abduction near Ravenna in northern Italy, a
press conference was told.
In June Russian police arrested four men between the ages of 21
and 36 for the kidnapping. (ANSA).
