(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 23 - Crimes against minors were up by 10%
in the first half of 2024 with respect to the same period in
2023, according to a report released on Saturday by the criminal
police's central directorate (Direzione Centrale della Polizia
Criminale).
It said cases of abuse by family members and cohabitants were up
15%.
The report said there was an 11% rise in abuse being used as
means of correction or discipline, while child pornography
felonies soared by 83%.
It said that most of the victims of sexual offences against
minors were girls. (ANSA).
