Man gets life for killing pregnant girlfriend

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 25 - A 31-year-old barman at a luxury Milan hotel got life in prison Monday for stabbing to death his seven-month pregnant girlfriend near Milan in May 2023.
    The man, Alessandro Impagnatiello, was found guilty of multi-aggravated premeditated murder, interrupting a pregnancy and hiding a body.
    The victim, 29-year-old realtor Giulia Tramontano, was originally from Sant'Antimo north of Naples but lived like her boyfriend at Senago near Milan.
    Impagnatiello, who had tried to poison her with rat poison some months previously, tried to burn her body after killing her in a row over his new lover, the court heard.
    Italy is enduring a spate of femicides. (ANSA).
