(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 29 - Protesters including students, pro-Pal and anticapitalist activists who were taking part in a march in Turin on Friday during a general strike called by unions, clashed with police in the city centre and burned a puppet representing Deputy Premier and Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini and three large photos of Premier Giorgia Meloni, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and the CEO of Leonardo, Roberto Cingolani.
The group, including a few hundred protesters, chanted "at the stake, at the stake" and called for the ministers' resignation.
Earlier during the march organized by unions, Pro-Pal protesters had thrown eggs and tear gas at police in front of the prefecture in Piazza Castello.
Security officials then clashed with other members of the group, including anticapitalist protesters, who tried to access Turin's Porta Nuova station which had been cordoned off.
Anti-riot police pushed them back with batons and demonstrators punched and kicked officers, chanting slogans against Salvini and the high-speed rail (TAV) link between Lyon in France and Turin. (ANSA).
