Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - Seven members of Italy's most powerful mafia 'Ndrangheta got a total of 125 years in jail Saturday for infiltrating the town councils of Anzio and Nettuno on the Roman coast.
The head of the 'locale' (branch) of the Calabria-born Mob, Giacomo Madaffari, got 28 years, and his number two Davide Perronace 20.
Both seaside towns, site of major WWII battles, had their councils dissolved for mafia infiltration.
'Ndrangheta is Italy's richest mafia thanks to its virtual control of the European cocaine trade, and also its most powerful and dangerous, having eclipsed Sicily's Cosa Nostra.
    Its tentacles stretch worldwide. (ANSA).
