(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 9 - Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on Monday denounced a deliberate attack in Ukraine against energy sources ahead of a harsh winter to force civilians to flee in order to survive, speaking at the presentation of ANSA's annual album of the images that best tell the story of the year that is about to end, "Photoansa 2024", at Rome's Maxxi contemporary art museum on Monday.
"It is a hybrid war vying to submit civilians", said Crosetto.
The defence minister also spoke about the situation in Syria, saying that an amnesty to all military personnel is an act that bodes well for the future of the country, replying to a question.
"I don't think that someone can judge now" what will happen, stressed the minister.
"We can only think about the leader" of rebels (Abu Mohammed al-Jolani) "and his history: he hailed ISIS and the Twin Towers and he has changed radically - we shall see but he took a first step", noted the minister after the announcement that Syrian rebels have granted amnesty to all members of the military conscripted during ousted President Bashar al-Assad's rule.
The presentation of the Photoansa book was attended by Crosetto, Nobel physics laureate Giorgio Parisi, as well as musician Renzo Arbore and RAI presenter Rosanna Vaudetti.
For sport, sailor Caterina Banti and paralympic athletes Martina Caironi and Giacomo Perini were among the guests.
ANSA was represented by President Giulio Anselmi, Chief Executive Stefano De Alessandri and Editor-in-Chief Luigi Contu.
The Photoansa book will also be presented in Milan on December 11 at an event to be attended by Lombardy Governor Attilio Fontana, Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala, Intesa Sanpaolo President Gian Maria Gros-Pietro and the interim President of Milan's Tribunal Fabio Roia.
Special guests representing the sports world will include Alice Bellandi, Paralympian athlete Simone Barlaand and Roncadelle Mayor Roberto Groppelli.
Ballet star Roberto Bolle will also attend. (ANSA).
