Overwork, poor pay among factors

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 16 - Around 52% of doctors in Italy and 45% of nurses risk burnout, according to a report released on Monday by the Enpam Foundation for medical workers and the Eurispes research agency.
The report said frequently having to work under stress in understaffed wards and clinics and having to deal with increasingly aggressive and sometimes violent members of the public were among the factors.
It said the fact that many medical personnel have little job security, with lots working on temporary contracts, with salaries that are 22% lower than those of their colleagues in many European countries were also issues. (ANSA).
