(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 28 - A fresh protest was staged in
Florence overnight against overtourism and short rentals which
are besieging and hollowing out the historic centre of the
Tuscan capital.
The action was promoted by the group Salviamo Firenze per
Viverci (Let's Save Florence To Live There), at the same time as
similar protests by collectives of inhabitants in other cities
including Genoa, Venice, Rimini and Milan.
Keyboxes and push-button panels were 'wrapped' with yellow and
black construction tape and the words 'Rimozione forXata'.
Three days after the obligation for those renting soon to
display an identification code (CIN) next to the doorbell began,
"they are not there in 95% of cases", claim those responsible
for the initiative. (ANSA).
