Average inflation rate at 1.0% in 2024 - ISTAT

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 7 - Consumer prices grew by an average of 1.2% in 2024, in a significant drop compared to the +5. 7% average recorded the previous year, ISTAT said Tuesday.
    Core inflation, excluding energy and unprocessed food, was +2.0% (from +5.1% in 2023) and inflation excluding energy was +2.1% (+5.3% in 2023), according to the estimates released by the national statistics bureau.
    The significant decrease recorded in 2024 was mainly attributed by ISTAT to the fall in energy prices, down 10.1% from +1.2% in 2023. (ANSA).
