Extreme concern for object on train line - transport min

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - Italy's transport ministry on Saturday voiced extreme concern over a bike chain found on a rail line in Veneto Thursday amid rail company Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) suspicions that some recent faults that caused major disruption may have been the result of deliberate sabotage.
    "The complaint formalized by FS after the report, in Veneto, of an object that could have caused significant damage to the pantograph and the train power line is extremely worrying," said the ministry in a statement.
    "The hypothesis of an attack on transport is a fact that cannot and must not be underestimated: we are faced with a further element after the (FS) complaint of a few days ago.
    "The hope is that clarity will be made very quickly. Deputy Prime Minister and (Transport) Minister Matteo Salvini is following the matter with the utmost attention". (ANSA).
