(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - The bodies of two children were recovered on Sunday after the shipwreck of a migrant boat in the southern Mediterranean.
    The bodies were picked up by an NGO-run search-and-rescue vessel, the Sea Punk, which rescued 15 people.
    Survivors said three people are missing.
    The survivors and the bodies were transferred to an Italian Coast Guard patrol boat to be taken to the Italian island of Lampedusa along with another 38 people rescued by three fishing boats.
    The rescue was carried out in Malta's SAR area some 58 nautical miles from Lampedusa, Italy's southern-most tip.
    Three of the survivors are in a critical condition.
    It was initially reported that three bodies had been recovered after the shipwreck. (ANSA).
